Not sure if this is a new thing but I've never run into it before.
Ethel fight went as usual, meaning I intimidated her into letting Mayrina go and giving me her disgusting scalp, she trash-talked me and Mayrina a bit more and then disappeared. Normally, that would leave the party in the combat-area of the lair with Mayrina off to the side somewhere and ready to be talked to (so she can complain about the help she just received...lol). Once talked to, she will walk off and leave the area and then "wait" outside near her hubby's coffin.
Thing is: She wasn't in the lair for me this time. I thought this might be another instance of an NPC spawning 50 meters underground, so I tried character outlines and also switched to "show fields of view" but she simply wasn't there.
Went into Ethel's "kitchen" in the back, collected all the stuff there (like the Connor-wand) and took the mushroom-circle elevator up to the coffin-area, thinking Mayrina had already walked off and would be waiting for me there. But she wasn't there, either. I was about to hit F8 and re-do the entire fight, but thought I'd try one more thing and that was re-enter the Teahouse, go through the fireplace again and all the way through the underground passages until I'd reached the fight-area again. And, weirdly enough, this time Mayrina was there and waiting for me to talk to her and I eventually did manage to accomplish the "Save Mayrina"-quest after all.
The only thing that was slightly different in the fight this time around is that Ethel changed into Mayrina during the very last round - though I did "dispel" the illusion by hitting the fake Mayrina before the fight ended. But Ethel pulling that fake-Mayrina-trick happens pretty rarely for me and I don't think I've ever seen it happen so close to the fight's end - so maybe this had something to do with the glitch? Not sure.
