Hi

Suggestion in short: Black backgrounds on menus and being able to fix tooltips somehow.

I searched for this in the options, but could only find the better contrast for dialogues.

Context: I play BG3 with a visual impairment. I have an overview of everything, but I need to zoom text >10 times. I play on geforce now and use the windows zoom function. I also tried it with supernova magnification,.
I have no trouble with dialogues as I can put the backgrounds to black. White text + black background + magnification works well for me.
Unfortunately, some parts of the UI, mostly the inventory or spells/actions in the lower menu are quite hard for me. The tooltips that appear, explaining the items aren't magnified well with their backgrounds and they do not always fit on the screen, I need to move my mouse pointer to move magnification and therefore, I lose the explaining tooltip. Text is magnified quite vague. While playing, the menu below is also a bit hard at times. Although I know a lot of buttons by hard after a while.
My current solution: Search it on the web or ask my smart speaker with this or that is in BG3 or DnD(for example for spells ) . When I really want to read a tooltip that woudl otherwise not be completely visible on a zoomed screen, I use my phone to magnify or take a screenshot.

I played it on easy mode the first time, to be a bit robust with my clumsiness this causes and just enjoy it. smile I do feel that I miss out on some things sometimes.

From the game, 2 changes would help a lot to cope with the issue a lot better:
- Have black tooltips with white text as an option, like with the dialogues. Improving readability and requiring less zooming.
- Have some button to press to keep tooltips visible, even when moving the mouse pointer.

I think the first part of the suggestion would be solve most of the problems. As a bonus, I think it would also help with less severe visual issues as well. I enjoyed it the first time I played it and I would like to play it again soon. Even with my issues. It's still a good game. wink

Hello

Thanks for your reply. The mod is not really what I suggested. Essentially: white on perfect black. A setting that exists for dialogues. But I can imagine that a mod might exist or that I might be able to do it myself. It is not very clear to me how to add new mods to the game, while using geforce now. But I will have a look. I am sure it is explained well somewhere. smile

On the other part of my suggestion, having fixed tooltips while moving a mouse to move the magnifier, I did find a small workaround. Windows has a shortcut to move the zoom with keus, while keeping the mouse pointer om an item. It's a bit more cumbersome, but it helps.
