Fun Fact: If you're able to kill the Owlbear mother before she has a chance to summon papa bear, then the scene where the cub stops being aggressive and goes and starts eating mama bear still plays on Honor Mode

Of course, this is easier said than done, especially since you can't rely on Hold Person due to the whole "People are far easier to manipulate than animals" thing D&D has (Hold Person only works on people and is a 2nd level spell... While Hold Monster which works on animals and monsters is a 5th level spell)

So you'd have to rely on things like Prone or Stun and one-round kill setups (I.e. A full party of Tavern Brawler abusing Fighters with Speed Potions and Action Surges) to prevent her automated interrupt action of calling for papa once reaching a specific health threshold.

One thing I haven't tested though is Silence. Theoretically Silence should prevent papa bear from hearing the call... But who knows if Larian coded for that...

Edit: I just did an Honour Mode Owlbear kill and Silence did seem to prevent mama bear from calling papa bear and thus enabled the end-of-fight trigger with the cub. Whether this is consistent, I can't say (Having just done this once, the sample sizes are a smidge on the low side)

Of course, this method does bypass the whole "Honour Mode Unique Encounters" thing by eschewing the papa bear entirely... But it's not like he does anything notable (No cool loot, no special moves. Just here's a second owlbear and like 70xp for killing him)
