Forest Gnome are described as such...

As a forest gnome, you have a natural knack for illusion... They gather in hidden communities in sylvan forests, using illusions and trickery to conceal themselves from threats or to mask their escape should they be detected...

Appropriately, they are granted the minor illusion cantrip alongside Speak With Animals in the Player's Handbook.

Natural Illusionist. You know the Minor Illusion cantrip. Intelligence is your spellcasting modifier for it.

I'm curious as to why Forest Gnomes are missing this cantrip in BG3. The minor illusion cantrip is already in the game. It seems a gap from a roleplay perspective, and I can't see any problems from a balance perspective considering all Forest Gnomes get from their subrace in BG3 is "Speak With Animals", which the game so generously already offers through a plethora of potions.
