Back when I first started Baldur's Gate III, I was asked whether I wanted to link my Lariant Account to my Larian Account.

I don't recall the exact wording, but I think they're indeed called almost the same:
One is the account I'm using here to post on the forums, the other is what logs me into Baldur's Gate III (and presumably also Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, which feels weird that these games can be selected in the popup window when launching BG3 in Steam).
My question is how these two are actually linked? I've seen users here in this subforum asking for the deletion of their forum account, for example, but I doubt that locks them out of the Larian games they bought.
Likewise, I would assume if anyone gets banned here on the forums, that doesn't ban them from playing BG3 or DOS1 and DOS2.

In turn, I guess there must be some way to sanction players within BG3 who may keep harassing other players in open multiplayer sessions, or something along those lines - but I doubt that has anything to do with the forum account.
Then again, Larian also seem to be able to see everything we do in-game, I guess? Otherwise they wouldn't have stats on how many players hook up with which companion etc...

I mean, I don't see what one could possibly do in-game that isn't fair-game by BG3's own Durge standards

. Still, it feels a little weird to me.
