I just finished my evil playthrough this afternoon, and after the gloriously horrifying ending sequence, it went to the end credits and then to the main menu. Continuing the game took me back to the last save before the end of the battle. I can't remember whether the epilogue came before or after the credits, but BG3.wiki mentions the credits happening after the epilogue. Is it expected that you sometimes don't get an epilogue, or is this a bug? I never lost control of my character or anything. I'll put as many of the things I can think of that might have affected the ending. I'm also using a small number of mods to get a first person view.
- Played Dark Urge, but rejected Bhaal's legacy
- Final party: Durge, Astarion, Lae'zel, Minthara. Shadowheart left in camp. Gale, Karlach, Wyll left in disgust; Jaheira dead; Halsin, Minsc never met/recruited
- Durge & Minthara underwent partial ceremorphosis. Astarion also took a couple of tadpoles.
- Dating Minthara, plotted to take over the world together
- Stole the Orphic Hammer from Raphael (but Hope died in the battle)
- Told The Emperor he was lying about needing to assimilate Orpheus, so he ran away and we freed Orpheus, who took 60 seconds to agree to become Ilithid
- Betrayed Orpheus at the end to become Absolute
- Passed a DC 25 CON save not to complete ceremorphosis in the ending sequence
- Ordered the people to rebuild the city as a monument to my glory
