If you go for killing 2 birds with one gnome, do it a few times. In my run it didn't unlock the first time either, only after 2 or 3 times. I suppose the he acheivement system is not entirely bugfree. (Nothing is, probably). The "busker" achievement showed this clearly also. You need to collect 100 gp from playing as a bard. Steam shows a slider how far you are. But when you actually collect, like, 10 gp after a performance, the slider increases but sometimes with only 1, or 3, or nothing. So, eventually I got there, but with much more than 100 gp.
