Ok, I'm used to setting it off if I am carrying a lit torch or a flaming sword and run over it. But now I set it off without that, just by moving over it. I had a flaming candle in my pouch, but I removed it, turned it off, and sent it back to camp.

It still causes the explosion if I walk over the oil or powder slick or whatever it is.

Is there a reason for that now? It never happened before without a cynical haha that was funny instigator like torch or flaming sword.

Oil slicks in BG3 are very touchy and make absolutely 0 sense even in terms of patented Larian surface mcguffins.

I don't doubt there are countless additional ways besides torches and flaming swords to inadvertantly trigger an ignition.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if merely the act of thinking about fire could set it off.

So, I'd double check every possibility, regardless of how much sense it makes, to try and figure out the cause of your ignition issue.

I can't even leap over it without setting it off. I haven't tried misty step but nobody has that yet.

It's just Tav for some reason. Lae'zel, Shadowheart, Gale no problem, saunter away!

Ok, figured it out. I am there to buy the Titan String as she is a bow ranger. I wield Speedy Reply and a heavy crossbow, with heavy crossbow as the currently wielded weapon, though it is sheathed.

But in my main hand, I have a lit torch set up as well. I switch from ranged to melee weapon, up pops the lit torch.

That is the trigger, a lit torch "active", but not even the current weapon. Switched back to melee, torch pops up, un-torch by clicking the little button for weapon proper, and no problem.
