What are you hoping for in regards to future Larian games ?

Sigh.

Okay, my personal hope:

Since Larian is known to make two new games, one of them being SF, I hope that the SF one will have starship building and starbase building.

No Man's Sky is one of my favorite games of all times, and the base building is one of the major reasons why I like it so much. You can build very simple bases, but also enormously elaborate ones. The big problem with NMS however is that there is no real story. I mean okay, there sort of is one, but its kind of very weak. NMS also has some starship building, but not much.

I really loved the starship building that I saw in videos of people playing Starfield. However the game had so many and so glaring issues in other areas that I was never really interested in buying it. Whats the point of the most elaborate starship builder if you cannot properly travel around in it ? Starfield also allowed to build starbases, but only in a very limited way. Basically you would find a node of resources and build some machinery to exploit that.

Anyway I dont want the game to center around these aspects, but I'd love if it had at least one of the two. It only really matters if it was done well of course.

Whatever direction they are taking, I hope they can really find the time to finish the game and make it live up to the original idea. While I still think that what I call my definitive playthrough of BG3 is perfectly unperfect, I would have loved to give Karlach a gondian heart, explore the Tourmaline Depths and see more of the Upper City. Things that are unlikely to ever happen now.

This is a very good point, with which I also agree.

For me, I have generally not much interest in Larian's games because I find TB combat to be too boring and tedious. And I especially don't have an interest in a sci-fi game. So, I hope the other of their two projects is another fantasy RPG, but, and this will be critical for me, a fantasy RPG that does NOT use their Divinity setting. I simply cannot stand the Divinity setting.

I like good stories and characters. While the third act of BG3 could have used a bit more time, I like the fact, that there is so much to find and so many potential stories in the background ( like Cazadors niece or the Hearthflame sisters and their story). I like that. The fact, that you can see a character totally different, depending on who you are talking to or what route you are choosing.
I think Larian is good with those kind of things and I hope, that they can get fully into it,when they make their own game again.

Well they are clearly currently working at two games, but we dont know any further detail than just that, and that one of them is science fiction.

Ironically I'm currently quite tempted by Rimworld, because the newest expansion added spaceships ... of sorts. Not really. But you can design your own ship that can fly to space, though merely to orbit, and that can travel the planet. But still, you can sort of design your own spaceship. I would really prefer if you could design more than just one layer though.

LOL No Man's Sky has a Starfield inspired spaceship designer now, too !

The new version 6.00 Voyagers came out yesterday (Wed Aug 27 2025) and the new starship type is called Corvette.

The NMS Wiki doesnt have an article on Corvettes yet, but I bet that will soon change.
