A suggestion for a legendary rpg, Knights Of The Old Republic 3. If this was already suggested I didn't see it. And I know it might be impossible to get the permission from the IP holders, but I can see a KOTOR 3 thar looks like and plays similar to Baldur's Gate 3. Plus there is the symmetry of "3". (Not that important, just funny) KOTOR is a great and fertile IP planted firmly in the "Galactic Republic" from "Star Wars". Not really sure what else to say except I can imagine it would be great.

PLUS 1- I would love to see a deep and engaging rpg set in a "Lovecraftian/Steampunk" world/universe. This also seems like an unbelievably untapped genre. Cosmic-Steampunk with a hint of horror? Yes, please.

Anyway whatever comes next, I can't wait.

Um.

OK I dont oppose KotOR3 at all.

KotOR1 is to this day one of my favorite games ever, mainly because of good storytelling, good characters, and good quest design.

KotOR2 of course was an unfinished ruin due to absurdely rushed development.

But Star Wars isnt lovecraftian or steampunk, so I have no clue whats that about.

Does BioWare still hold the licence? Aspyr is currently working on a Remake of KotoR I. Playing BG3 brought back many fond memories (and expectations) from both KotoRs which were the last computer RPG games I played before it.

Aspyr is no longer working on the remake. Reportedly, they lost the deal after showcasing an early build to Sony, which wasn't impressed with it. Saber Interactive is currently working on it, and we have heard nothing else aside from the fact that they are actively developing it. BioWare doesn't have the license anymore, and especially now that they offloaded SWTOR to Broadsword, I don't think they will have any role in the development of the remake. Which personally I'm fine with since BioWare is a shell of the company they once were, thanks to EA.
