🟣 Community Summary: Minthara, World Expansion & Localization Ideas

Hello Larian team and fellow adventurers,

First of all, thank you for creating such an incredible experience with Baldur’s Gate 3.
It’s a world full of life, emotion, and depth — a game that continues to inspire us to imagine new stories within its universe.

Over the past weeks, several discussions on the forums have explored ideas that many of us in the community feel passionate about.
This post is a small summary of those thoughts — not as demands, but as creative inspirations and heartfelt appreciation for your work. 💜

---

⚔️ 1. Minthara as a Playable Origin Character

Many players would love to see Minthara’s story explored from her own perspective.
She’s one of the most complex and fascinating characters in BG3 — proud, conflicted, loyal, and tragic.
Being able to play as her, experience her inner struggle, and see how her faith and choices evolved would add immense depth and replay value to the game.

Even if not as a full Origin, her background and emotional journey could inspire a future DLC or narrative expansion — perhaps exploring her youth in Menzoberranzan, her training under Lolth’s influence, or the events that led her to the Absolute.

---

🌿 2. Expanding the World and Character Interactions

The BG3 world already feels wonderfully alive, but there are a few areas where even small additions could enhance immersion:

More dialogue or interactions between Minthara and Orin, two strong characters tied to the Absolute.

Additional moments with Kagha, whose story has so much potential for growth.

The ability to customize our personal tent and camp, adding trophies, books, or decorations found during the journey.

Horses or stables — even as background elements — to make Faerûn feel more believable.

New weapon types, such as katanas, to add flavor and roleplay diversity.

These small touches would make an already rich world feel even more dynamic and personal.

đź’¬ 3. Czech Localization and Mod Support on PS5

Many players in Central Europe are deeply passionate about BG3.
The Czech community has already created a high-quality fan translation for PC, and it would mean a lot if such community translations could be allowed as optional mods on consoles (PS5).

Even without official localization, enabling these language mods would make the game more accessible to a wider audience — a gesture that would be deeply appreciated by fans.

---

đź’ś 4. Vision for the Future

As fans, we don’t expect everything — we simply hope that our shared passion shows how much your creation means to us.
Minthara, Kagha, and so many others still have stories waiting to be told.
Whether through official updates, DLCs, or community projects, we believe their journeys can continue in ways worthy of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Thank you, Larian, for creating a world that inspires us to dream — and for giving us a story we’ll never forget.

With respect and gratitude,
Jan K.

I'd definitely be excited to see more things added, especially within act 3 to improve story cohesion, companion depth and reactivity, as well as fixing inconsistencies and bugs that are currently still in the game. However, we'll have to look towards the modding community when it comes to any of these ideas, I'm afraid. Larian has clearly stated in their patch 8 announcement that aside from minor bug fixing, they will not be bringing out more patches, expansions or anything else. You can find the announcement here. They have moved on to their next projects as they have two separate teams both working on new RPGs that are not related to Baldur's Gate.

Honestly though, it seems that even for bug fixing, you'll have to look at the modding community at this point. My personal experience is that bug reports also no longer get addressed at this point unfortunately. A bug introduced in Patch 8's stress test in January (Lyrthindor's bugged combat encounter in Shar's temple) has loads of topics on it on Reddit including videos of the bug in action for example, but as of right now that bug is still in the game and I personally haven't found a response from Larian acknowledging that they're aware of this and planning on a hotfix for it. So Larian has taken their hands off of BG3, left us with a (mostly) outstanding game and the rest is up to us to either fix in the case of bugs, or create/add in the case of enhancing immersion, weapons, spells and/or DLC-like content.

Especially for existing characters it will be a nigh on impossible task to add anything, though. With a game that is fully voiced throughout by either the characters speaking or the narrator going through a character's inner thought process, you'd need their voice actors to consent and collaborate with any form of addition you'd like to see. You would also likely need the consent of the original writer of a character to add anything new to their established character. So it's probably more likely that we'll see (smaller) custom campaigns as passion projects in the future, with entirely new and original characters, potentially with new voice actors recording their own lines, to create a new and lively experience.
