I can get no info from the grove. One Grove denizen said something like "so sad what happened", and there was a curious patch of blood round about where Arabella's parents struggle to get through the guard. I can read between the lines.
I went looking for other blood patches, but I can find none.
Why they went crazy I don't know. I did steal the idol without pissing anybody off, but that was after the tieflings were gone already. I don't know if Mol will give you the ring in Last Light, but that's moot now.
So it wasn't Kagha going nuts, as it says she's fine with them staying, right in the quest log.
It wasn't the idol, as it was a peaceful steal (the easier steal) after the resolution of the tieflings.
Sigh, which was, apparently, them being murdered off screen by the druids for some unknown reason.
