I'm adding a note from a mysterious 'J' to Aerie's inventory, basically just telling her that she needs to get her butt to Baldur's Gate.
Otherwise, the overall vision is that Aerie has essentially evolved into a 'Doctor Who' type of character; a perpetual wanderer drawn to mystery, who doesn't really seek out trouble, but she never turns away from evil and injustice or anyone asking for her help either. She has lived most of her life now as a minority of one, and although she has accepted that she will always be a bit of an outsider, there is of course a deep loneliness.
You will find she jokes and plays with people far more than she used to, and isn't afraid to let people know that she's extremely clever.
Courage, curiosity, and compassion always have been Aerie's core traits, although the traits that led to her getting captured in the first place. But now they are tempered by experience. She's no longer reckless (at least, not usually when it matters) and constantly being told off by Jaheira for putting herself in harm's way when others could have taken the blow more easily. Her compassion is now wise counsel, and her intelligence and curiosity are now backed by, again, years of experience.
The important thing is that she's not just a memberberry, but a character who has realistically grown from when we last saw her. We'll be looking at essentially the difference between a 17/18 year old who is just setting out into the world for the first time (and with a lot of trauma to boot), and someone in their late twenties who is far more at ease with themselves.
