Larian Studios Forums General Chat Moving away from D&D and BG3 - a good move

I never understood the rules set of BG1, and thus, I never played through it.
I finally understood a great part of it - but not everything, of course - while playing DDO.

I kind of grew up with the TDE rules system, which is very different from D&D. But, I must say, that the second edition (Blade Of Destiny / Startrail / Riva) differs a LOT from the 4th (Drakensang 1 & 2) and the 5th edition ! And even Blade Of Destiny / Strartrail / Riva use a different system tailored/modified towards international players who prefer a D&D-like system !

I have learned that the different editions of D&D are very different to one another, too.

And, if you want to see REAL armor, then go into museums.
