Nice ideas to make the story look more robust. But I think the Raphaël deal would not be so rosy as depicted.
I base this on the lot of the souls you meet in the House of Hope, and the stories behind the 3 soulcoins from Flo. Karlach only wanted to live, in her city,, with her friends. No devil, including Raphaël will let this happen, but will gleefully corrupt that wish to something horrifying. An eternity that would likely be very much worse than roaming through the fugue plain under supervision/protection of Withers, after dying on the docks.
