First off, I want folks at Larian to know that I support you immensely whether you use it or not. Your games are rare treats that make me happy when little else does. I love your work and wish you big success with Divinity.
I think this is THE perfect time for Larian fans to show their support to this developer, not when everything is okay, but when they might actually need it. Not a rallying cry, just a thought of mine.
Anyway, what about translating this whole situation into a quest in the actual game? Would be a witty way to brush off this peculiar event, I love such stuff...
I mean, ironically the trailer already shows some parallels - there is literally a guy being burned alive buy the joyous clueless mob which is in any case an overkill.
Maybe wrap it in-game as some sort of metaphor on technological advancement? Like a device that can store and release source, make it available and useful in humanitarian endeavour, but being held back by both anti-sorcerer dudes aka magisters and elitist sorcerers at the same time?
