Further to this, if you decide to allow characters to use multiple weapon sets (Be it BG3 style where everyone gets a melee + ranged weapon, or a more freeform where it can be any 2 sets of usable weapons) then you should always show both weapon sets. None of this BS where you pull a weapon out of your butthole because it literally didn't exist until you swapped to it.

This could also come with a decision to make weapon bonuses only apply from your currently held weapon set, so that you're not incentivised to run around wearing stat sticks you have no intention of ever actually wielding (Such as in BG3 where you get the affects of both weapon sets at all times, thus you often equip weapons just for stat boosts, even if you literally can't even use a bow you'll still just have it for a passive boost)

Did not really read the last two paragraphs after the link (to someone I do not consider an expert, but with some cool ideas ...) last time but I cannot enough support the proposals and want to cite them again. It's especially mindnumbing that you can profit fro example from a shield while actually using a bow or enhance your crit chance with a sword by carrying a bow with such stats, and so on.
