Hi all,

I'm starting my first multiplayer campaign with a friend and we are running into issues getting some mods to work, and I was hoping I could get the community to weigh in if any of you know what's going on.

We are using the in-game mod manager because we had assumed it would be easier to get synced. However, when my friend joins the campaign, he gets an error on about half of the mods that I've installed saying "We have detected a mismatch between the following mods and your host's mods. Please review them and take the required actions before continuing." Hitting the "download" button on the mods highlighted doesn't resolve the issue.

What we've realized is that for the mods impacted (for example, the Fade Equipment mods), the versions in our mod managers are different. For example, my mod manager will show a mod as being version 1.11 in the details, but my friend's mod manager will show it as version 1.08. We've ensured we are playing in the same version of BG3 (4.1.1.6995620) but are not sure of what else we can do to get these mod versions aligned since our in-game mod managers are misaligned for some reason.

The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with the fact that my friend is playing on Nvidia GeForce NOW while I'm playing normally with a PC. I've read there isn't mod support for the free tier of Nvidia GeForce, but my friend pays for the premium tier, so I don't think that's what's going on.

Any help here would be much appreciated!

Posting the answer in case anyone stumbles on this thread in the future.

When using Nvidia GeForce NOW, the in game mod manager uses mods that have been approved for Xbox X/S use, which is why some of the mod versions were either not showing up or not the correct version.

I downloaded the most recent version of mods that had been approved for Xbox X/S online (I used mod.io since they clearly label which is the most recent version of a mod that has been approved for console use - look at the "Download files manually" section at the bottom of the bar on the RHS of each mod's webpage) and uploaded through the BG3 Mod Manager. My mod manager will show these mods as being out of date or needing an update, but as long as you don't do that, the mod versions will work.

Hope that helps anyone with the same issue!
