So what I'll do is focus right now on writing her as a companion for Tav. Then go over it again adding some Durge and Origin specific stuff - I have some thoughts there. Maybe some Race & Class specific stuff as well; like if you're a Gnome or Bard you can geek out with her over Chiktikka Fastpaws stories, Wizards over magic and 'science'. Maybe Elves can teach her how to Reverie since she might have been too young when she was taken to have learned to do that properly.

For class, right now I have her as a Knowledge Domain Cleric. Nature Domain would be appropriate for Baervan, but originally of course she was a multi-class Wizard/Cleric. Knowledge Domain is probably the closest you can get in one class.

As for her being starting so low-level, I've thought about a few ways to handle that. Like maybe she's already encountered Mindflayers who tried to scramble parts of her mind to make her less of a threat, so she needs time to recover her full strength. Or maybe she is actually very powerful but is pretending not to be so as not to upstage you, because she's nice like that (obviously not serious there, but it could be a fun fanfiction or something). Honestly I don't really worry about level too much. When you encounter Jaheira and Khalid in BG1 they're supposed to have already been adventuring with Gorion over a decade before.

DID YOU KNOW: The word 'geek' came from 19th Century Circus Performers (likely deriving from Dutch and German words meaning fool or freak), who would bite the heads off live animals. Don't worry; Aerie is in fact a geek in the more modern sense of the word.
