Hi everyone,

I’m currently facing an issue with the game for which I found no solution. I’m around 60hrs of playtime, including around 10+hrs in act 3. The game won’t load any of my saves from Act 3, it will load to 75% and then crash to the PS5 crash report screen. I tried some settings tricks found online, I tried completely reinstalling the game, I tried playing offline, I tried clearing my PS5 cache and rebuilding database, I tried cloud streaming the game and even tried on another PS5 but nothing works.

The only save that will load is one I have from the very end of act 2 but none from act 3 works, neither manual or auto save. I even tried to start over from my act 2 save and redo the beginning of act 3, planning to never reload save or quit the game and only put my PS5 on rest mode while I’m not playing until I finish the game. I played 10hrs like that but, tragically, died in a fight and again, can’t load any save from act 3 so I can’t play anymore.

I’ve seen people online having the same issue but no solution so I’m writing this hoping someone found how to make it work again as I really want to be able to finish the game (I paid for the game it’s not normal that after almost 3 years this kind of bugs still exist).

I'm having the same issues that VBRN has discribed.
I've already tried the same solutions and nothing worked.

Act 2 save games loads just fine as it should, any of my act 3 saves (being 3 diferente manual saves and 5 auto saves in diferente points of the game) dosen't load. The loading time stops at 75% and the game crashes to the PS5 home screen.

I'm around 50 hours in game. Never installed any form of mods. Game is in it vanilla mode since the begginig.

Hope that there is a solutions soon.

I do have a save in the end of act 2 (about 2 hours to enter act 3), will try to enter act 3 againg, just make a new save and see what will happened.
I'm assuming that it wil crash the save, as VBRN has already done. Bring news soon hope that, untill then, a solution will happen.

I just wanted to report that I’m experiencing the exact same issue as vbrn and OrdepYodog.

I was in Act 3 when the bug appeared. All my Act 3 saves (manual and autosaves) won’t load: the game loads to about 75% and then crashes straight back to the PS5 home screen.

I’ve already tried:
- Playing offline
- Completely reinstalling the game (keeping game data)
- Rebuilding the database in Safe Mode
- Adjusting settings like HDR (ps5 settings) or deactivate performance mode (game settings)

Nothing has worked. The only saves that still loads is the ones before of Act 3 (and from another story btw since I don't have any save files prior to Act 3 for my main story).


It’s extremely frustrating, especially after so many hours of play. I’m posting this to confirm that this bug clearly affects multiple players in Act 3 on PS5, and it’s not an isolated case. I really hope Larian can provide a fix soon, because at the moment it’s impossible to continue the story.

I am also having the same issue as all of you: vbrn, OrdepYodog, and Ranseri.

I’m also on console but am on xbox series X. Made it to act 3 with a full group of friends and a fairly heavily modded save but had relatively zero issues up until this point with crashes of any kind and zero issues loading any saves. No issues during act 3 until we saved and picked back up the next day (today). Now none of our saves will load (all 5 of our saves are in act 3) and it gets stuck at either 75% or 83% before crashing. Hoping this is addressed and fixed soon as we had really hoped to finish our play through before classes got up and rolling this week. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll get that option.

Hello there, we are also having the same problem on PS5 with Act 3 saves crashing whenever we try to load in our co-op file that just made it to Act 3. The game has a full stack of mods, but was working fine day before yesterday.

I’m begging Larian to fix this. We’ve lost so many hours of play if this is permanent.

It's said that Larian strengthened verification of UUIDs in save files after the 30+ hotfix, which causes the issue.

Whether that's true or not, come on, Larian, stop playing dumb. Similar feedback is all over Reddit. Block-level bugs should be top priority, right? This issue is ruining your masterpiece—do something about it.

It's a really sad situation, but it's good to see that it's not an isolated case and it's happening all over different prataforms.
XBOX and PS5 users reporting the exact same error, that's not at all a coincidence.

The mod variable tends to be the most critical in this kind of scenarios, but clearly it's not a mod issue, since there are players (like me) that don't use mods and are having the "not loading crash error".

I really hope that Larian solves this and the game becomes playabel again.

Will be posting day in and out here, also sending Larian, in there Bug Report Mail, this subject, so it won't just vanish in the forum.

For anyone curious, I tried loading my brothers save on my Xbox and it crashes at 83% as i previously mentioned. But we attempted to upload the save to pc and it also crashes at 83%.
