I'm curious about Divinity. The mixture of the races seems overwhelming in the trailer. A lot more than in BG 3 or DOS 2 (from my distant memories). I wonder wether that's a common town and a common "burning fair" and all races live together all the time or wether it's a very special event and all traveled to it? In that regard I also wonder why all shown public sex (which for me stands out as quite "uncommon" for fairs) is with mixed couples. Is there a purpose beyond shocking viewers? (be it for "moral" reasons or because of the contrast to the brutal burning scenes)
It's an interesting thing to consider.
My gut gives me the feeling that it's more to do with being a trailer than actual lore. With it being done to show off the race diversity and of course stir up controversy with mixed race sex. As both things would garner more interest (And generally show off more about the setting) than if it took place within a more normal town populated with a singular race (Where people might get the idea that the game revolves around that one singular race)
To say nothing about how most towns could be predominantly single race, but there would likely still exist towns where populations mix more frequently (I.e. Trading Towns and places where travellers might pass through)
But who knows at this point. Especially if you equate this "Mixed Race Event" and the finale of the sculpture made out of turning the whole village into one singular object... With an "All becomes one" underpin.
It's something to keep an eye on as and when more information about the game surfaces.
