Hello. Yes this is my first post. Apologies if this is an awful noob question.
By way of introduction, I am a veteran of BG1 and completely mad about Planescape: Torment. Because of that game, Githzerai Monk has been my most chosen class in tabletop since 1999, so of course my first BG3 playthrough was as a Githyanki (open hand) Monk. Fucking badass. I waited two years to finally buy hardware to play this game, and have logged 469 hours in less than two months.
I apologize if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere. I HAVE searched.
The Hag refuses to surrender in my latest playthrough. I got her down to ONE hit point and saved. I killed her. I reloaded and let her act for several rounds. She ISN'T silenced. She attacked again and again. She possessed Mayrena with "damsel in distress". I didn't act and just kept getting beaten on. Round after round of doing nothing but taking healing potions. Ethel just keeps casting vicious mockery and taking forever to kill the party.
I gave up and reloaded earlier saves from the fight. Same deal.
I tried knocking her out and taking a long rest (there was a lot of camp drama there, in my first dark urge playthrough omfg 😅) but she was still knocked out in the morning.
Context:
When I first came upon Auntie Ethel and Mayrena's brothers, I sided with Ethel, but immediately attacked her. She disappeared but the combat log said I killed her. I knocked out the brothers. I went to the Teahouse and Ethel was there. I told Mayrena I had "bad news", which was odd because the dialog option then let me say her brothers were alive. Everything else seemed the same as in my other playthrough. Do I need to reload before that encounter and not attack her?
