As they say, haters gonna hate, the game literally has a quadruple backup for some of the plot important characters, as well as hyper specific trigger points like Astarion getting hit by the Lathander's Lance. It also adjusts for unorthodox story progression, such as visiting the Grymforge first and main Underdark second, as petrified drow can acknowledge the forge being looted by your party.
That is not to say your comments are invalid, but they have little to do with the initial point about catering to the potentially least popular choices.
