Bioware died when EA acquired it. Ever since its only a name. The original developers fled quickly, given the working conditions at EA.
I liked the idea of DA:O a lot when it came up. A successor of Baldur's Gate, but without Wizards of the Coast overview ? Heck yeah.
But what we got was extremely poor in every regard. An extremely uninviting, depressing and stereotypical fantasy world. The rulessystem extremely dumbed down full of idiotic decisons. Dislikeable characters. Boring story. Poor combat.
Nevermind that EA had already acquired Bioware when DA:O released, so they hurt the game every way they could. No multiplayer. A forced console version, which destroyed the interface on PC. They made part of the game a download you could only do if you told EA everything about your person, which is why I never got this part.
I doubt that even Larian could produce a good Dragon Age. There is just not enough to work with.
