I believe Larian when they've said that tone will vary, depending in part on the player's in-game choices, that the sort of scene we saw in the trailer may occur, but that will be because the player made choices to enable it. I personally enjoy "Larian Whimsey" and hope to see it in-game. I also hope to see darker, more serious content. My suspicion is that anyone who wants only "adult" content will either be disappointed or have to be careful to make the sorts of choices likely to result in darker outcomes.
