Sadly the game is completely busted on Mac at the moment.
Was unstable before, but the combination of Patch 7/8 and MacOS Tahoe has made it utterly unplayable. Freezes most of the time before cutscenes and entering dialogues with spinning wheel of death.
I've read a lot of user comments about this issue and tried most things, however there is one thing I cannot try and that is disabling firewall/antivirus that could be causing conflicts (I'm using a work laptop without certain admin privileges). If you are able to give this a go and report back I'd be interested to see if it works.
