its not listed as a hotfix [even though it actually is] and there are no notes on changes because its a back end i.e, their sever patch

yes Playstation has known sync issues with it and that sucks to be you if you run into them but on the whole this patch was a good thing... if pushed out the door untested

I disabled auto update but it did so anyway somehow

For clarification, are you saying that GoG has the follow up version as in a fix to these issues from the recent hotfix?

Gog has the current build which is now 4.1.1.7151330 but you can of course roll back
