I am new to Baldur's Gate 3 and I was wondering why my main character at different times has a white aura encircled around her feet which comes and goes away? When I have this aura it seems to interact positively with Shadowhart giving my character a positive buff when I roll skill checks in conversations. As I said it come and goes so where does it come from and what triggers the buff?

That's probably due to temporary hit points.

Sounds like you're getting the Guidance spell cast on you.

Which is a Cantrip that requires Concentration that provides a 1d4 bonus to skill checks.

It's often offered to be cast on you when you encounter a skill check and someone with the Cantrip is in your party and will provide a very small VFX when its active.
