Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems BG3 won't even launch new campaign with mods

Hello everyone! I need help regarding Baldur's Gate 3. Two weeks ago I started a new campaign with around 30 mods, and it went fine. However, couple days ago everything broke and now BG3 won't allow me to open that save file OR start a new game. I thought that the problem was with mods, however that seems to not be the case: I have a friend who plays with the exact same mod list and mod order as me, and everything works fine for him. I tried disabling the mods one by one, but it seems that as long as I have at least one mod of any kind turned on the game just won't load. I've tried deleting and reinstalling script extender, I've tried re-installing the game, I've tried verifying the game's files, reinstalling all mods, etc. Nothing seems to work, I'm genuinely baffled at this problem, I have no idea what could possibly cause this and how to fix it!

Please help!!! This problem completely prevents me from playing any modded game at all, I would really appreciate any help!

Have you checked the mod folder with file explorer ? C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods

I know uninstalling from BG3MM sometimes leaves files there, even though they are no longer visible in the interface.
And I think that steam uninstalls don't touch that area. (Though I may be wrong here)

So if you haven(t done that yet, check if all mods have effectively been removed, and then try to install them again.

Hello again, sorry I wasn't responding for long, I've been quite busy. Thank you for your adviced, I attempted to do just like you asked but it was unsuccessful. Furthermore, I went as far as to completely reinstall my entire OS, and the game still won't load. And as a final nail in the coffin, I've now stumbled into a new problem: now the game won't load the main menu past 95%, HOWEVER! Only on my first attempt at launching it. Should I attempt to launch it a second time it will load the main menu but will fail to load a new game past 81%. I did some operations with mods (turning them off and on individually), and I succeeded at loading up a new game ONCE, but after I attempted it again, I was met with failure and now the bug that prevents the main menu from loading past 95% became permanent.

I'm really desperate here, I feel like there's no hope and there's something wrong with my PC at this point.
