I haven't played the original Baldur's Gate and it's been two decades since I played the 2nd but when I found your dad's NPC I was willing to bet he must have been some kind of reference to one of two previous games. A little googling brought me here to find your great post. Thanks for sharing this story. Big props to Larian and superwriter. What a great team they have there.
