At this point, the ending is 100% the reason I don't want to replay the game yet because who likes to invest 80 hours into something they know will slap them in the face with the NTR?

Yea, recently played through the game one more time. What a great adventure, dragged down by the ending so much.

You know what? I'm personally cool with... being a third wheel and what not. I don't mind Sadha, she's fine.

I think, it would be at least an unusual dynamics, not something you see in games often. Quite interesting to see.
I'm fine with the idea that Red Prince was mentally conditioned from birth to seek his destiny (both him and Sadha) and whoever in the empire was responsible for shaping them as political tools - did a very good job, ensuring they won't sway from what have been prepared for them.

BUT

If it was done properly. If in the nightmare dialogue Red was like "Of course you are my destiny, Sadha, and I will be glad to be the ruler of the empire and father of dragons alonside you. However, during our long time apart from eachother, I might have not been... entirely faithful to you..." (nods at player avatar character)
And Sadha be like "Oh, don't worry about it. As a future emperor, it is your right to have any woman you desire. I've never expected to have all of your for myself alone. Not with all those legends of your bedchamber conquests, with demons and what not.
I am most sure, you've made a finest choice, and we will get along with her just fine together in the royal palace, if that's what you're up to. I just hope you won't get carried away enough to forget about your actual empress, and her dragon kids..."

And then in the epilogue
"So... I am returning back home. Will you go with me, to live in the luxury of golden city, beside me and Sadha? We might even give you some court title, if you prove yourself capable enough. But even if you don't - just having you as a companion is still something that would brighten my day... adequately enough"

Or something like that. Somewhat reasonable polyamorous relationship, I guess. Not unheard of.
But if being immediately reduced to a slave, even if you're a fellow lizard - yea... no... One final dialogue that... I guess takes all the buildup through the game and throws it away?
And generally not having a race-specific introduction dialogue with Red Prince if you're a lizard and by all accounts shouldn't be a slave by lizard rules - sounds like a terrible overlook in a game that is kinda famous for accouting for so many possible player choices.

Eh. Sadly, it is what it is. Romance part and it's effects on the ending been very well improved in BG3, and now I can only hope that new Divinity game Larian have been cooking will have a character as great as The Red Prince. I really like the guy. Very unusual for a companion, and very interesting not just for "what he is" but also for "why he is". That one guy, who gets kissed by the goddess when they first met, and told that modesty doesn't suit him. Which is still not enough for the goddess to buy his loyalty, he kinda sees what she's up to, and merely plays along, for as long as it's convenient.

Playing AS Red Prince feels quite nice as well, but... in this case guess I'm out of suitable romance options, even though all of them are... "just here", brief and nowhere to really lead to.
