Hi,

How do you see potential of having some new difficulty level,

somewhere in between tactician & honor mode,

where you would - lose some amount of experience - with every saved game reload?

Does this make some sense, or not at all smile

Best regards,
Zac

To me this makes no sense when you can already choose custom mode and configurate difficulty to your liking, besides there isn't going to be this kind of update coming to the game anymore unless you kickstart a fan made mod project.

Right.

I did not really hope that there will be another update for BG3.

More less wanted to hear any kind of feedback about the idea in general. Maybe as potential for some future games smile

I see it somehow different from all current difficulty tuning possibilities, where you can go for 'honor' save style mode, which basically limits save slots to a single one.

This would be a kind of slightly "softer" approach to still penalize any frequent reload sequences ...

There might be an issue with losing XP with each death. The total amount of XP is fixed, so if you lose too much, you're gimping yourself more and more.

That might be a fun difficulty challenge (people have finished the game with 1 hp, or no higher than level 1) but that seems like a major challenge in excess of honor mode, not in between honor and tactician.

I may have a solution: I just installed the brutal difficulty mod. It's harder than tactician (and Honor mode's normal fights, which use tactician) but does not have Honor mode's legendary actions.

I was sad because I wanted brutal + legendary actions, but it might be to your liking.

It has some fun upgrades to enemy AI. For example, when they down one of your party members, they don't keep at it until dead, which is something a dev does to be irritating, but they then attack the rest of the party. This is the correct tactical move as once everyone is downed, not dead, you lose.
