After Gortash invites you to the coronation and you head upstairs, as you approach him there is a steel watcher on the right. Sometimes it challenges you ("Stand down citizen, there will be no violence tolerated...") and sometimes says nothing and lets you walk right by and start dialog with Gortash. I am now on my 54th playthrough and have tried it with all races, classes, armed, unarmed, running past him, walking slowly...I can't make any logical sense out of why he challenges you randomly. This is obviously unimportant as there are no repercussions (unless you want them!) and it doesn't affect anything, but I'm just really curious what determines its behavior. Does anyone know anything for sure beyond conjecture? If not, well, theorize away.
