As for the gore bit, is it not that trailer may look very gory, while a corresponding game will seem much less so?
In BG3 and DoS2 I literally waded through blood and gore for long stretches in the games without thinking of it as offensive. However, a detailed cinematic of the same thing would certainly made me feel uncomfortable.
