I’d try lowering the graphics settings and disabling a few expensive effects first. BG3 can be pretty demanding on some Macs, especially in larger areas.
I’d also check that the game is running on the latest version and that there’s enough free storage and memory. If it still freezes like that after lowering settings, then the Mac’s hardware may simply be struggling with it.
