Btw I'm not aware that you have to do anything before freeing Halsin.
AFAIK what you have to do is to stop the kids from ringing the alarm, because then the whole camp would be alarmed.
Oh and you have to tell Halsin to stand down, or send him to camp. If he joins you in his bear form, well theres only combat after that. Halsin helps, but doesnt help THAT much, so if you didnt do anything else at this point, expect a huge battle.
