I think I messed up this quest, I killed all the trolls then found the three guys at the house who gave me the quest (to get revenge on the trolls for stealing their wives and killing their kids). I went looking for trolls and can't find any. So now I can't solve it and I'm just curious, what happens?

Well I went there and...well there were some trees, and a few rocks but nothing that surprised me.
Like I said, it's fubared, I killed the trolls in that area before I got the quest. I just wanted to know what happens normaly, and what is the big surprise?

Are you sure you wandered far enough into that area? There should be a cut scene conversation triggered, then....

If not, try going back to where you got the quest, and telling them you changed your mind...

I've walked around the whole area, no cutscene. And here's another odd thing, I went back to the house and all I found was a pile of gold, some potions, and some other things (meat, tomatoe, etc). So my guess is they were killed somehow...

Something could be wrong with your game/save, Tekmoor - any crashes? Black maps? Played around with Raze's lost items editor and didn't follow his instructions dot by dot?

Cutscene: Sapphiro and his cronies ambush you there
Returning to house: Sapphiro and his cronies attack you, they're paid mercenaries in the name of the Black Ring

Another possibility: Did you clear the area around the house? Were there powerful enemies? Insane/master insane skeletons? They could've killed them.

Or maybe the Sword was removed from the Stone?

hmm, good point Friend of Keldorn, but IIRC no one reported this kind of death so far - only the elves and the urn collectors.

No crashes, no black maps, and I don't even know what Raze's lost item editor is...

If beetles, wolves, and frogs could've killed them then this is a possibility (they're all around that area). However I've never seen any skeletons up there.

Yes, however about 10 minutes later (after killing him about three times) I realized you had to put the sword back. I didn't leave the area with the sword.

Hmmm, beetles are strong and I guess, you mean those mutated toads? ... - very strange. Is the quest still open in your questlog? Nevermind, it's just a small side quest, you didn't miss much.

Just for the records: The urn collectors are still alive and well?
Kiya

They were never dead in my games, but beetles and toads could be a possibility.

Yeah mutated frogs. It's still in my log, and yes the urn collectors are live and well

So all that happens is they attack you...

Yep - that's all: Kill or be killed
Kiya
<rubbing her hands in glee> Though I got a spellbook once when I looted their corpses - but only once, it's random

You should have tried keep going west following a small/short path instead of turning south where the trolls are located.

I've killed the poor humanz but wonder what would happen of I've offered double of gold like Tyrion. Forgot to make a save beforehand
