Its all Canada's fault!

I live in michigan and my screen resoultion is all messed up.

*insert bad word * hot weather over here .

luckily my dad is a mechanical/electrical engineer he had a gas powered generator. It was funny as hell though as we were running out of gas all the neighbors came over for today and yesterday cooking together, while my dad siphoned extra gas out our cars.

I got to play euchre and conquered the game. Then I read part of Giant Slayer (warhammer novel) and at dark we stopped putting gas in to conserve.
Let me tell you it was so dark at night it was freaky. no flash light could peirce far enough in the darkness. Neighbors brought candles.

This is SpArTa!! oh im sorry, I must have took a wrong turn..somewhere...(runs away)

Seth - you're amazing. Where do you get all these facts?

LOL - I'd never find this stuff in a million years.

I thought it was common knowledge. (-and all the signs have been there for years. The powercuts in Ca are well known. But it happened all over the country from time to time. Just not as spectacular as in Ca.)

I was born in the land of the great Pharaohs.
Yet I did live in many countries like a true Gypsy.
I am also a descendant of the Divine One.

Good old Canada supplies a lot of power/oil to the US.
I say we cut them off though, but i won't get into politics...

I'm actually Asian... born and raised in the Philippines (yes.. pick from 7,101 islands *snickers* ) My family moved to the US when I was 17 years old.. never left since then. I do miss the home country despite how terrible the economy has gotten. My favourite place has always been the fishing village where my grandparents (mother's side) lived. I always had good memories there...diving for shrimp and fish, play with seahorses, or just sit on the sand watching the sunset or the sunrise. The country is typically warm and humid, like any tropical country.

I relocated around several times within the US. So, I'm at a point where I have no clue which to claim as my home. Currently though, I live in California (Los Angeles area), where the sun always shines. (God, I miss the rain!). I prefer the northern parts of the US, because they tend to be cooler. And I always enjoyed the four seasons.

I used to be a dental hygienist/assistant in the US army. After leaving the service, I ended up taking college courses here and there.. Zoology major at that time and worked as a primatekeeper for a while. Became a single mother two years ago. Now, I'm a Network Systems Management major...focus on CISCO. (Zoology was such a long haul for me to finish with the little time I had, raising children at the same time.. Perhaps I can get back to it when my children are older).

In the future though, I am looking into moving outside the US (either somewhere in Europe or perhaps in New Zealand).

woohoo, Gia. u're one tough girl. in fact u remind me of my aunt who's living in kentucky(did they get blackout as well?). she's 3 kids; 2 teens & a pre-teen & just finished her med course. tougher than nails, she shows her nephews & nieces in malaysia that marriage & kids & a big house doesn't stop her from reaching her dreams. motherhood is never an excuse, huh?

& about mandrake's occasional hallucinations & erratic meows has been explained. he has been smelling my fate-worse-than-death socks. good thing he smelled only one half or he would've turned into 4th generation of jake instead of arhu-the-reincarnate. mandrake, i just did 9 hours of sock-soaking. u want a half? meow.....

winterfox......, hmmmm haven't heard from her in a long time. hope she's still around. i hope i get it right by saying that winterfox's a she. correct me if i'm wrong.

boy, DAD. u're one of the divine ones that came through the stargate? no wonder u got a japanese babe for a wife. both cultures revere the sun. the sun god & godess. DAD@Ra.

now u've an idea 2 dress up your ava. like a pharaoh!

& virgo, u should go 2 the forest more often 2 experience true darkness. & candle light is romantic, right? i can still live without electricity. it's just water that i can't live without.

As for me, I live in the eastern Europe, in the Baltic States in beautiful land of Estonia , in it's capital city - Tallinn.

As for climate. It's northen country, so quite cold here. Estonians have a joke about our summer:

Some southen dude askes estonian
-Hey, you are so white, haven't you got a summer in Estonia?
-hmm, yep, we had, but I worked that day.

But, this year summer was really hot 30-35 C as It's usually around 5-20 C and very very rainy.

Estonia nature is just beautiful. Forests, swamps, marshes

I work for small construction firm as executive director. We construct and mantain different pipe-systems (water and heating). Work is interesting, it gets very hot, for example, when one of our pipes crosses mayor street.

This summer I finally got my diploma in economics. uff.

I have wife, two kids and a dog - small, smart, friendly, super-active beagle.

As for my hobbies. I like fishing, collecting mushrooms (just mushrooms, not that hallycinogenic stuff ), traveling across country and playing games.

As for games, I don't stick to one or two genres. I do play very different games from Sacrifice or GTA to CimCity or Rainbow Six. Actually I play almost all blockbusters (except car sims, sports and strategy, like Shogun).

yay, finally got Grim Fandango! first impression - a musthave game for every developer and gamer as an example of excellent game, a masterpiece.

PS Btw, natural blondes come from here

it is sooooo hot here!!! 94 degrees F, 52% humidity. all i have to keep cool is a couple of fans and an ice cube or 2....

i hate minneapolis weather- either too hot or too cold... we get perfect weather for maybe 2, 3 months out of the year, and it's hard to enjoy it because of all the mosquitos!

but other than that i love my city.
