Well let me tell you.
I was born and bred in SA. I am a white male. I stand 1.8 meters tall. I live in the North West province of SA in a town called potchefstroom. I am 20 years old and turning 21 in a bit less than 2 months. I live on a farm. The temp here is between -4 and 12 in the winter and between 20 and 44 in the summer. Here they are called Northern Lights - as we get the reflection from the North West Territories here in Canada. (Or Aurora Borialis - sp?????)
They look amazing there!!!!! Ours are mainly green in colour, not as vibrant red as your. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

aurora australis = Suthern lights.

The colour depends on the quality of the air.

Aurora is the Roman goddess of dawn.
She's pictured as winged woman in a chariot with 4 horses, "pooring" the dawn over the earth.
Michelangelo made a (famous) beautiful statue of her that was used as tombstone at the grave of Lorenzo de' Medici in Florence.

Aurora Boreal and Aurora Austral - These things don't happens here.

Btw, we don't have many lives here on the forum. Or maybe the most part of the people don't like to talk about it.
