Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Local Coop game changed protagonist mid game

I started a local split screen coop game with my wife on my PC. She created her character first and I created mine second. She had protagonism of the story on cutscenes. Everything was fine until I decided to respec my class, appearance and name. Ever since I have been taking the leadership role on cutscenes which sucks cause it was supposed to be her playthrough. Our campaign save file also changed to my name.

I have seen a ton of "fixes" online like: dismissing my character and progressing the story a bit; changing her appearance and name; killing my character and progressing the story; deleting the old saves in a number of ways to get the campaign name to change back (this one actually worked, but it only changed the name, I'm still protagonist);respeccing my character again; none work.
I even downloaded LSTools and went into the save file but AI tutorials to make changes are more lost than I am.

Save from just ditching that origin character and taking Wyll as my new lockadin, I don't know what else to do. Please help me.

Guessing out of the blue, but perhaps it's the name change. Change her name (look or respec doesn't sound applicable) and see what happens? You can always change back to her original name if her heart is set on that, which should work too. What I can find on the Internet seems to orient around which character's computer is doing the save file. Perhaps renaming yours switched it to your computer.
