Confirming Safe Removal of ActivatePersistentLevelTemplate Queries in ModWrapper_Gustav? Stoi Yesterday at 05:59 PM
Not too long ago, I posted about a bug in the Modding forum.
Apparently, no one knows what to do with it.

So, I wanted to ask Larian directly:
Plz confirm if removing the 2 queries involving ActivatePersistentLevelTemplate from
ModWrapper_Gustav -> Start -> Test may or may not cause camp trigger failure.

Self-same trial changed after patch 8 ? ldo58 Yesterday at 12:19 PM
I 'm back in Shar's gauntlet and did the self-same trial, for the 4th or 5th or 6th time, I don't remember exactly. But something seemed different.
Shar was always cheating of course. The so-called replicaa's are not humanoid, so they have resistances against certains spells , shoves, and also attack resistances that your party doesn't have.

But now, I also saw a difference in HP. My Tav has 60 HP, the replica had 94.
There was a replica of Astarion. Astarion has the shadow of Menzoberanzan cap, which he used to become invisible. But, he could also attack and immediately become invisible again.
I had 2 characters with "see invisibility", so when he became visible I cast Tasha's laughter on him, he didn't save and ROFL'd but..... became invisible again nevertheless.
Next time he failed the invis savethrow and popped in sight, I shot an arrow, which hit and... after hitting he became invisible again.

It was a weird and somewhatr hopeless fight, but alltogether we finally did get fake Astarion down. Then WE were punished for cheating by Shar.

This is all on "balanced mode" mind you.

Accessibility for dyslexic people PixelAgora Yesterday at 10:05 AM
I am unsure if this is doable or something that's of any interest to Larian, but I figured I will say it anyway:

I'm dyslexic. Reading unbroken text in most fonts is difficult, as certain letters look very similar to one another, and they confuse me. What this means practically is that, much as I may wish to, I don't tend to read most of the books and notes I pick up on my BG3 journey. It's tiresome, and in an environment that already requires me to expend considerable cognitive energy, I have to pick my battles (sometimes literally - hah).

I'd recently discovered a type of font that's designed for easy legibility for dyslexic people (an example is Open Dyslexic, a free to use font) and it has been a game changer. Letters stay where they should be and I don't have to strain to read. For the first time in my life I can glide my eyes over the text and my brain automatically knows what to do with it.

I am wondering if it would be at all possible to introduce a toggle-able option to change the normal BG3 font (beautiful, mind, and aesthetically pleasing as it may be) to something a bit more dyslexic friendly.

I know this is an extremely long shot. I know this is not something people readily think about, and on the laundry list of accessibility features needed in video games, this is pretty far down. There is also a lot that goes into designing video game UI and I know it's certainly not as simple as clicking a single button. I am putting this out here, however, holding out hope for the fraction of a chance that someone will read this and be inspired to keep us dyslexic people in mind, if not in this project, then maybe the next.

Thank you if you've read this far, and thank you for an amazing game I keep coming back to. Cheers!

Kar'niss' Moonlantern From The Rooftop Shadowbart 15/05/25 04:50 PM
So I rolled with Kar'niss to get to Moonrise Towers, then he clumb up the side of the tower, cya!

Later, I clicked the red door inside leading to the rooftop. I got frowny-faced by the locals. I clicked it again, now I'm getting in deep, at this point they probably didn't want to sell me a McRibb. Now I was irritated.

I decided to keep clicking it until they attacked, or at least gave me a go to prison option. Click, frowny-face. Click, boom, on the roof!

I made it through. For the fun of it, I tried to solo the roof. I had clicked separated down below, so no companions were companionating.

Lo and behold, success! Not counting Kethric of course.

Got Kar'niss' moonlantern and left.

Now I had 3 moonlanterns. This, the one from Balthazar's room, and the Shadow Lantern, which now provides moonlantern protection, thanks Patch 8!

But Kar'niss' no longer had a pixie whining in it to save and get the protection buff.

On examination, according to the "Examine Lantern" spell thing that appears when you hold it:

Balthazar's: Dead pixie inside. This is illogical because it's a proper moonlantern, not a broken one.
Shadow Lantern: Dead pixie inside. This is logical because we made it with a dead pixie, and it's the shadow lantern, with different properties.
Kar'niss's: No such examine lantern power. I even checked the list of powers from 'i' key, all tabs. It does appear for characters holding the other two.

Did I find a path the famed failsafe devs didn't consider? I'd at least expect the Examine power to appear, even if it gave some technobabble as to why the Pixie was done with me. Also, a dead pixie seems wrong for Balthazar's, that's a lame excuse to not have a secondary one to free. If you don't want that, come up with a better technobabble than contradicting your own lore!

Anyway, I'm not gonna cry as I now have 3 people carrying bright Moonlanterns, and I put Light on myself, so we're running like a supernova through the Shadowlands.
