Game crashes on load AlexeyKh 3 hours ago
Unfortunately game (steam version) crashes on 2 my last quicksaves. It happened after I dropped teleporter pyramid in treasure room of dragon worshipers and went to Ars magicana to sold loot. I make 2 quicksaves near merchants I now cannot load them.
Older saves can be loaded without troubles.
Is there a way to troubleshoot what went wrong and fix my saves?

My arm stuck through the wall, I decided to resist. I chose the melee option, something like "Forget subtlety claw at anything you can."

The dice popped up. 0 was the difficulty class, the dice were messed up, like no numbers on them. I clicked it, with bonuses, I couldn't tell what I got, but it added to 20 (not a crit) but that was enough, I pulled free.

A male voice then said something about it, I can't recall what. The only problem was my party is 4 females and my dream visitor is female and not yet revealed, so it wasn't one of those five.

So whatever was going on, a bunch of pointers to data, GFx, and voice choices was going wonky.

But, is there any way you can manipulate the attack roll portion of the skill?

As there's no need to mess with applying Hold Person, if you can just make the attack roll a guaranteed nat 20 or adjust its crititcal threshold by 19.

Hello again, sorry I wasn't responding for long, I've been quite busy. Thank you for your adviced, I attempted to do just like you asked but it was unsuccessful. Furthermore, I went as far as to completely reinstall my entire OS, and the game still won't load. And as a final nail in the coffin, I've now stumbled into a new problem: now the game won't load the main menu past 95%, HOWEVER! Only on my first attempt at launching it. Should I attempt to launch it a second time it will load the main menu but will fail to load a new game past 81%. I did some operations with mods (turning them off and on individually), and I succeeded at loading up a new game ONCE, but after I attempted it again, I was met with failure and now the bug that prevents the main menu from loading past 95% became permanent.

I'm really desperate here, I feel like there's no hope and there's something wrong with my PC at this point.

Somewhere there's a YouTube video, where some insane dude picks up and carries all three of Kethric's siblings over to him, then kills them in front of him just for spite. Or maybe carries or lures Kethric to them, I forget. I can't imagine carrying fatso even with two cloud giant strengths.

Either way, now there's a nasty roleplayer!

I always wanted to do a run where I never freed the pixie, but had to run around with a lantern out, just for Astarions and giggles.

Well, in this one, I went the Dryder route, straight to Moonrise, and he kept the moonlantern and scootered up the side of the tower to the top.

Later I went up the outside and cleared it except for Ketheric, and got the moonlantern. I didn't do anything with it (and on retrospect, not sure I could.)

Anyway...

I carried it a while, and this was after I got the one from Balthazar's room. Eventually I decided to rescue her and get the pixie bell instead.


OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS. Nothing in the lantern but broken bones and fallen off wings. Yuck. Sorry, snotty pixie!

I didn't even know this was possible. I suppose all those dead pixies should have been a clue, it wasn't just due to sloppy work by Balthazar. I've no idea if it was me or the dryder who was responsible.


I plead dumb. Which is easy with an 8 int.

I have installed the CD version of Divine Divinity and have updated to 1.0034A. I'd like to transfer my saves from the GOG installation into this one but I can't find where the save games are stored. I searched in the games folder and even AppData but I couldn't find anything. I remember it was easy to find them when I was playing the GOG version but I'm not sure how 1.0034A works. Can anyone help me?

The problem with game design is often that there are features suggested that for example "add immersion" that create a lot of additional work and waste a lot of limited resources, but dont actually improve the game as a game.

Full simulation of a city is one of those. A shopkeeper who is open 24/7 and never moves from their spot may not be realistic, but its hella convenient for the player.

All Caps 'yelling' put aside, I really wouldn't mind if Larian went a bit out of their way to undo or change whatever they did to permanently break the Visible Shield mod (and all mods trying to accomplish the same thing.) There's currently one mod that sort of works around it by turning the shield into a weapon (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/18667) but it doesn't work with other mods which adds shields.

This mod is so important for style and fashion and it's sad to see it gone and ignored :c

I forgot one more mod : You need to change Gale's voice to female. There are a few versions that you can use here : https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2702

I used voice style A myself.You can find YT vids where you can listen to all of them and select the one you like most.

Before BG3 I never installed a mod for any game, so it was all a completely unknown for me also. It turned out to be quite straightforward and I have about sixty mods active now. Here are a few tips to get started :

In order to install Nexus mods, there are 2 ways. One is a tool from Nexus itself, which is called Vortex. People who use this say it automates and simplifies everything. People who don't use it say it often makes wrong decisions and screws up. I don't knowh how good it is, because I only used the other, more manual way with the BG3 mod manager.

That is an executable you can download, and I suggest you check out one or a few youtube video's that explain the interface. They're not long video's, it really isn't rocket science.

When you get BG3MM running, you can use this program to download and install script extender (in the menubar "tools" item). That will also automatically update it if needed.

Then you're all set up to install your mods. Go to the mod page in Nexus, read the description attentively, as well as the requirements. Then go to the "files" tab and download the file(s) needed to your PC. Normally these are .pak or .zip files.

So my procedure is then to click on BG3MM menu "file->import mod", select the downloaded files. The names of the mods now appear in the right pane of BG3MM.
Then to activte them, you drag them from the right to the left pane and set the loading order right. Mods are loaded one after the other, so if there are dependencies or overrides then you need to drag themup and down in the list. For the 3 mods you need I don't think it's a thing, but I would put the enhanced edit mods first and the galepal mod after them. The voice mod is a bit special, it goes directly to an override section. No need to do anyhthing more for it.

Then, and this is the thing that most beginners (me included) forget, you must go in menu "file" and click "save order" and espcecially "export order to game". If you forget that last one nothing will happen.

And that's it. Just one more thing. I said it before, but can't repeat it enough : Read the description. Nothing so annoying for the modders as users that complain there's a bug, it's not working, but they didn't do what the description told them to do.

With the mod installed, Gale automatically gets the female body type 1 and the standard mods look. With the enhanced edit mod you can remodel it immediately. You don't need to go to the magic mirror. There's an icon in your command bar that you can click at any place to start the procedure.

In my current PT, I have a normal Tav, but run an all female squad, so these are (from LTR) Wyll, Astarion and Gale.

Wondering about what is possible for a visual mod? DraxDomax 25/02/26 07:27 PM
I have a lot of experience creating 3D models for industry and want to try my hand at a visual mod but not sure what is possible.
Let's assume I want to make a "monocle" mod.

1. Are there anchor points on the character's eyes so that my monocle can clip on those?
2. If not, can I create them?
3. Would I have to do something special for each origin character?
4. Would it work with other mods, eg additional hair styles?

I think the best way is if someone who knows more about these things tries to imagine (and walk me through) that they are implementing a monocle mod and what is easy to do, what is hard to do, what is impossible.
EG: I imagine a real physics simulation of the monocle chain dangling would require access to the game engine, which is something maybe Larian do not allow?
(On the other hand, I've heard about flopping genitals...)

Would appreciate any discussion about this smile
