Which of the 3 copies has best loot?
crpgnut
I like supporting Larian; especially DivDiv, Beyond Div, and Div-2 so i have bought multiple copies of these games. I wish to play through Div 2 again and I own 3 versions disk, DKS Steam and Dev Cut. Is there any differences in the loot tables? I always felt the disk version had better drops for some reason.
P.S. I haven't done BG3 as I'm not a D&D guy but prolly should try it one day. Lol, I've been a member for 22 years.

Armor in Divinity, and why it was bad in BG3
Krom
BG3 was something i loved. Almost all the aspects of it were very good, great or above even. The characters, the interactions, the narrative, the branching choices and the consequences were things i really enjoyed. We also know Larian's strengths, and they have already discussed how they want to expand on all the above, adding more permeations and choices. If there was one thing i didn't like in BG3, and i would really want a somewhat different direction in Divinity, it was the character customization as far as armor is concerned. Basically armor-heavy armor especially. How it looks, how you look in it, it didn't click with me at all, especially if you tried to look cool in all-heavy armor, which was like impossible. Besides on personal feelings on what looks good and what looks even better, i will try to make just some bullet points to emphasize a point. And if you guys can, just have them in your mind if that's possible, so that there are more options for heavy armor lovers like me (:p) in Divinity. Obviously, some of these are fixable by mods, but i would like to see them without the need of mods. 1) First of all, there was no transmog system. You found the oathbreaker knight helmet, yay. Now scrap it, because it doesn't have any stats on it :p 2) There was no uniform look on heavy armors. Each piece was almost like it didn't fit with each other. Together with (1), it was a nightmare to find all slots with items that made the look uniform and not like a clown :< 3) Although in EA(up to patch 6 i think) the armors looked fine, in the released version, they were shrunk especially in the joints. Case in point, the EA gith half plate, and the release version. On other armors like plate, when modded in game during EA they looked fine even with the simple metallic boots on. In the released version, no boot model matched any kind of plate armor. Although normally you would expect the kneecaps to lock over your shinguards, which did in fact happen in EA, today in BG3, every boot model does not align with the chest armor(or its kneeguards anwyay). There are gaps at best, makes it look it weird. 4) The only 2 armors that didn't suffer from the previous, since they are uniform in look and actually looked cool, were Ketheric's armor, and Dame Aylin's armor. Both were NPC only. Reaper's caress was accessible yes, but only the chest armor. Ketheric's plate boots and gloves are not in game, even though he wears them when you beat him. Dame Aylin's armor is again not available to players. Number 4 is something i saw in DOS 2 as well. Blackring heavy armor and Paladin armor, 2 of the coolest looking armors, were NPC only again. This is a trend i see continuing with Larian's games, and makes me a bit anxious about the decisions in Divinity. DOS2 did not suffer from the non-uniform armor look at least. So, for Divinity, i kind of expect to see good interactions, good plot and actions and consequences, but i would also like to see something more for the armor and gear we will be wearing, so that it both looks cool and is as convincing as possible that for example this is a knight/paladin/whatever armor. It fits the archetype we are going for. As for the problem with BG3's armors especially leg armor, i am not sure what caused it. But i have seen other games out there, that make kneecaps as part of thigh armor, always struggling to align boots and knees afterwards. The games i don't see struggling with it, either choose to make kneecaps as part of the boot model, or make leg armor as a one mesh unit and both work fine. My 2 cents. I look forward to Divinity, and since the trailer i was honestly stoked. I would also like, however, to see more being put into customization for our characters, and i don't mean the character creator, but the armor we wear, since in the previous game it made me think it was a very low priority. Cheers!

Cannot load any kind of saves, even fresh New Game
BadutCat
I was playing fine 2 days ago and saved in the middle of a battle against Loric because I was getting sleepy (It's possible and I've done it multiple times before so why not). I went to play again the next day only to find that I cannot load my previous saves. I thought this was simply a bug from saving mid-battle, but I also tried reloading a past save where no battles are happening, it still has the same error code. The error: something about the program not being able to copy the save files from the player profile subfolder to the levelCache folder, code 119, 120
Now I know I am not the only ones who had this problem, I've already tried the solutions to the error code from other threads but it's still happening.
I even got to wiping the entire drive and reinstalling the game over again, it still produces the same code.
Loading a New Game file also produces the same error code.
I tried verifying the game file integrity multiple times. Still error :""(
Is this a problem with my drive? Or the save files? Or the game? I was just getting hooked on the game u_u I don't want to abandon it

MacBook Pro M2 Game Crash
SweatyRunwayRave
I play on my MacBook via Steam. Started having game freeze up after loading into my most recent save this week. I hadn't done anything different, no computer updates, I don't play with mods, and I always close all other apps/windows before loading game. I'm at level 12 in act 2 and this is the first issue I've had with the game since downloading it. This freeze causes my computer to completely shut down.
I tried some troubleshooting: turned off steam overlay, verified game files, uninstalled and re-installed game, loaded older saves (same issue), restarted computer, and finally updated my Mac OS. Was still having issues so I put my crash log into ChatGPT (don't @ me I don't know anything about coding or anyone who does) to see if it could give me any further info. AI seems to think the issue is a kernel panic caused by rendering actions but that is really out of my wheel house so I'm unsure what to do. I managed to get into GeForce Now and create a safe save so game progress is OK but would love to see if anyone has experience with MacBooks or may be able to help. I do still have a copy of the crash log saved if that would be helpful? Any assistance greatly appreciated!

Xbox Series X “Timeout” and frame drops
Bookbomp
Game: Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition
Console: Xbox Series X (Each friend has a Series X as well) 3 of us in total.
Mode: Story
Session Type: Multiplayer
Context: Friends have been having an increasing amount of trouble connecting to my game. The message I see after they’ve tried connecting for a certain period of time is “[gamertag] has timed out”.
What time it occurs: This occurs both when we’re first trying to get everyone in my lobby and when we try loading any save. I’m unsure if it occurs upon entering a new area as well.
When it started occurring: With the previous update towards the end of December and also shortly after reaching Act 2; I’m unsure which one is responsible because we updated the game around the same time we started exploring Reaper’s Coast.
Frame Drop Bug: There is another bug that occurs from prolonged game sessions roughly 2-3 hours. The game frame drops intensely to what looks like even 5-10fps, though it is remedied for each player by each player closing their game and reopening it. Once everyone reopens their game and joins my newly created lobby, the 2-3 hour *timer* starts for the next extreme frame drop to occur again. Started occurring when we first started playing the game from Act 1 and played for 2-3 hours for the first time.
Final Thoughts: The frame drop is manageable and there are temporary fixes we as players can do. The ‘timeout’ issue however…now *that’s* an issue that has made the game unplayable with my friends on Xbox to the point we’ve completely stopped playing.
That is all :-]
My friends and I eagerly await a patch for this, and I’ve seen others have as well.
Also, I had already sent an email to supportdos2@larian.com about a week and a half ago now. The email contains effectively the same text as this post.
My friends and I are rooting for you devs. We eagerly await a fix/patch/workaround

Game crash while trying to load any save from act 3 (PS5)
vbrn
15/01/26 07:39 PM
Hi everyone,
I’m currently facing an issue with the game for which I found no solution. I’m around 60hrs of playtime, including around 10+hrs in act 3. The game won’t load any of my saves from Act 3, it will load to 75% and then crash to the PS5 crash report screen. I tried some settings tricks found online, I tried completely reinstalling the game, I tried playing offline, I tried clearing my PS5 cache and rebuilding database, I tried cloud streaming the game and even tried on another PS5 but nothing works.
The only save that will load is one I have from the very end of act 2 but none from act 3 works, neither manual or auto save. I even tried to start over from my act 2 save and redo the beginning of act 3, planning to never reload save or quit the game and only put my PS5 on rest mode while I’m not playing until I finish the game. I played 10hrs like that but, tragically, died in a fight and again, can’t load any save from act 3 so I can’t play anymore.
I’ve seen people online having the same issue but no solution so I’m writing this hoping someone found how to make it work again as I really want to be able to finish the game (I paid for the game it’s not normal that after almost 3 years this kind of bugs still exist).
Thank you everyone 🙏

Suggestions to Improve Gameplay Quality in Future Titles
Ghost_G0d
14/01/26 10:15 AM
Hello Larian Studios team! First of all, thank you for your amazing games. I really enjoy the depth, freedom, and attention to detail in your RPGs. I would like to suggest a small quality-of-life improvement related to trading and merchants that could make gameplay more comfortable in future Divinity titles (and similar games).
🔹 Buyback Slot / Separate Buyback Tab for Merchants In previous games, when the player sells items to a merchant, those items are mixed directly into the merchant’s main inventory. Over time, this causes the inventory to become cluttered with low-value or irrelevant items. As a result, it becomes harder to find the merchant’s original goods or newly refreshed items.
Suggestion: Add a separate buyback slot or dedicated buyback tab for items sold by the player.
Benefits: Cleaner and more readable merchant inventories Easier navigation and less micromanagement Faster access to merchant stock Better overall trading experience This system already exists in some other RPGs and feels very natural from a UX perspective. Thank you for your time and for continuing to create such high-quality RPG experiences! Best regards.

New Race Options
Ragingcoup
14/01/26 07:07 AM
I'd love to see more race options in the next divinity game, like the Imps, I thought they were amazing when we came across them in Divinity Original Sin 2. I'd love to see an origin story with an Imp who has a lot more complicated interactions because people expect them to cause trouble. And I just want a tiny race smaller than dwarfs, and a bard like class, something about Jamming out and healing people is just amazing too.
Excited to see what comes! ❤️

DOS2 vacation
teltow
12/01/26 02:02 PM
This is my second Larian game after BG3. And again I have the impulse to go on vacation just to play the game more. Also, I'm feeling stupid to never ever have even considered to play round based isometric games until BG3. I thought they were not for me. Oh boy was I wrong.

Pick up Bug still here PS5
Batschisane
12/01/26 11:44 AM
Hello, I am new her, hope this isn't a double post...
I just have encountered the pick up bug...
I play on a PS5
All my characters are unable to pick up items from the ground anymore...when I go to the item and try to pick it up, the character freeezes and can't be moved anymore and neither does it pick up the item...switching to another character just yield the same result
Now i was searching around in the web for solutions, but none of them worked so far...
Killing the character and reviving(like some do suggest) it doesn't do anything...
Holding the x button and pressing map button does open a menue, but i still cannot pick up unless it is an weapon or other equipment, then i can equip the item with the compare function... but this doesn't work for non equipment items
But the biggest problem: i cannot pick up items that i need to finish quests!
Right now I am on the rooftop in Rivington where the Gale's cat is sitting with the pile of letters, and I cannot pick up the letters to finish this quest...
I spent more than 100 hours in this game so far and I love it...and I don't wanna have wasted all that time for naught...
Can anybody help ?

New Games - XCOM The next Larian Development?
WizardPus
11/01/26 05:34 PM
Love the progression of games that Larian has made leading up to BG3 and now DIVINITY. The strategy and pacing of cinematic turn based has become amazing. Larian, How about a re-imagining of XCOM with your style and talent? - Keep the original formula (Base, Geoscape, Tactical) - Add new game mechanics similar to your BG 3 (Realtime with manual switch to turn based, and Turn based Combat) - In depth Story, Cinematics and dialog - Deeper crafting for all things (Base improvements, Vehicles and improvements, weapons, armor etc.) - An engaging strategy that includes more than just tactical combat. Some RPG elements, Research, Investigation, Rescues. How about it Larian? Can you take on multiple games at once? I think you could really make a fantastic improvement.

Adding a quest item to the inventory using the Norbyte's console
Persival de Rolo
10/01/26 07:18 PM
Adding a quest item to the inventory using the Norbyte's console While playing the game, I missed the chance to take Atusa's leg off her dead body. This happened as a result of my experiments with the deathfog barrel over the assembly of magisters at the gate of Fort Joy. As a result, the leg did not appear at all.
Using the guides and instructions I found, I found all the available item IDs (Statsid, Template, String) in the game files, and later, using the Norbyte's Script Extender console, I tried to add Atusa's leg to my character's inventory.
The command worked, but, unfortunately, not quite as we would have liked. Every time, as a result of using a console command, an ordinary, nameless foot appeared in my inventory, which did not even have an original description, much less having original effects and original value.
I would like to ask if there are ways to concretize my request, and finally, using console commands to get the original Atusa's leg?

Attention Larian and fans; thoughts on real time pause?
ChrisCanFly
10/01/26 06:20 PM
There hasn't been a great real time pause RPG that I've enjoyed since dragon age origins, if I'm honest.
Larian; with your world building and character development, just the sheer depth, I think you guys could build one of the greatest real time pause combat RPG games ever imagined, I know it brings more limitations, and makes things like multiplayer more of a hassle/not possible; but even just as an option I can turn on when I'm out adventuring on my own to change up the pace would be huge
I don't know if this idea will be well received but I felt I needed to throw the idea out there atleast
A fable/ dragon age style real time pause RPG produced by larian would go hard I think. I trust larian to add in depth backstory like the origins system we see in dragon age origins, and to have your characters history, background etc actually mean something.
Perhaps I'm alone and wishful for things long gone
