Just wondering if it's possible to look at a different characters inventory when in battle.

I am playing co-op with a friend and while a battle is on, I'd like to look between my characters inventories, but cannot seem to do so. It seems like you can only see the inventory of the last active character.

Is this by design?

I believe that it's by design, so you can't use any items on other characters while in combat. Only the active character gets to do that kinda stuff.

You can however send items to other characters. Potions, scrolls, heck even weapons.
I had to send my rogues dagger to my blacksmith for repairs in a battle once.

Keep in mind that some things do cost you AP to perform tough.

Thanks guys. It's not even that I want to use anything, I'd just like to look at my next character during large battles and plan my next move. I just found it strange I couldn't do that. I guess it's by design.
