Well Not sure how this would work or if they could take the time to do it but if they made it so the game had 7 differing plot threads dependingon what race you choose let you pick any of the 7 council races, depending on the race u get innate bonus/negs, since dD is not really class chosen at the beginning of the game have the race decide what your inclined to rather than the classes, and then u just play as one of the 7 races and Your class is determined by the skill points you choose to get alot of. Obviously being a orc magi would be harder than being a wizard magi.. etc.. I just like the idea of 7 different plot threads and racial bonus's with a class system determined by the player where he ends up.

I made a suggestion once that DD2 should allow the player to choose any of the 7 races for the council, but if it continues with the DD1 storyline to the dot then it may well have to be human again (since it was a human in the intro video and all). Could be but this will have implications in storyline, if you are a elf ofcourse all dwarves will see you like an enemy and you'll have to start to kill all dwarfes, the same is valid for other races.

well, maybe since you're the divine one you can just possess a body or assume the form....

and maybe not have to kill all your enemys, but just have them automatically have a negative reaction to you, and you have to win them over. but it would be very easy to start a fight if you say the wrong thing.

that'll be great but what if their initial perspective on u is already on hostile? hence the argument we have in the thread 'rules in a rift world' for RRR.

your idea can still work if we have 'charisma' where we have a chance to talk the enemy out of attacking us & maybe even offer to do a quest or two for them. this is what lionheart promises to do. if that game fails, maybe DD2 can accomplish by learning from other people's mistakes.

I don't know if you're going to be able to continue being the Divine One in DD2, though that would be really nice. Import feature? What about a war of the gods? No one's done that yet for an RPG, I don't think. It would be quite epic, and at the same time you would get your butt kicked by the other deities. chaos versus divine beings. nice basis except everyone is uber in his/her own way & no god/ancient is similar. this will be hellish for larians as each character is unique like how greek/roman/persian/other gods are.

He probably grew up and became extremely, extremeeeeely evil, and so the DD1 character has to go give him a smack down. actually an mmorpg is in the works that is something akin to what you're describing... basically instead of starting off as a weakling killing rats you start off as a minor god killing powerful foes but get even stronger with time... or something... i don't remember the details exactly but it was something like this...
