I notice that release days here in the US are tuesdays. Yet in the Sunday paper that has all the ads, I saw no mention of <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />. I have my BestBuy credit card all set. There is enough on there yet for <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" />, and maybe a new music CD or 2! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Whats the deal, I went into EB and they're telling me the game won't be made in Aust anymore so I cannot get it? I have to find a store thats got it? I said Beyond Divinity, so there was no error on my part.

If it wasn't released fine, I'd wait, but I am being told NO MORE COPIES! whats the deal, anyother Australians heard anything about this BS?

Edit: Hmm, maybe they're talking about the release that was planned but put off to make changes? but they wouldn't know about that would they? So should I just wait and see if it's released?

Best Buy always seems to lag a few days behind places like EB in getting in the new games. They never seem to get the games on release day. Hopefully in your area it works differently, but if not, then it might explain why your paper makes no mention of the game yet.

I'll check my sources and get back to you, but I don't trust EB and I no longer buy anything from them after the way they've messed me around in the past. Often, they decide not to sell certain games. Gothic is one that leaps to mind.

They didn't sell Gothic? funny how they can stock really crap games yet boycott others that are good. I don't really believe what they say but this took me by surprise, they looked Beyond Divinity up and said it was recalled and wouldn't be coming out and that I would have to order from the US?

Short update on Aussie availability. According to my colleagues at RPGDot, there is currently no publishing agreement for it in Australia. However, some sites are listing a publisher, but that publisher has no mention of it on their site. Dhruin will phone them tomorrow and ask for clarification. One of us will post a follow up, as soon as we have some information. If it's not going to be available, I can give you the names of several game sites that will sell and ship to Australia; I use them a lot.

Games Warehouse is advertising that Beyond Divinity will be available from May 21st, and are taking pre-orders now, if you're interested in purchasing via mail order from within Australia (thus avoiding the currency exchange hit).

Otherwise, it seems the same old sad story when it comes to Australian distribution of new release PC games in general.

There is a publishing agreement in Australia. QV Software (no info on the website available as of yet) will publish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> in this territory.

I'd say make it clear that the game hasn't actually been released yet. They probably are talking about Divine Divinity. You've heard more than me. I haven't been able to get a release date or even anyone who knows about it in Melbourne.

That was the publisher's name we were given, but as of yet we haven't been able to obtain any confirmation. I'll check back with Dhruin as soon as I see him online.

Sorry this comes as a double post, but this is the latest info on Australian publishing, based on a phone call made by Dhruin from RPGDot.

"I called QV Software: Australian release is supposed to May 3rd @ AUD$69.95 RRP. I was promised major retailers would be buying it - although not in large quantities so persistence might be required. They took mild offence at the idea that it's not on their website but I'm not smart enough to find it."

I asked EB in Melborune Central today and they have a release date of 27-May-2004 and it will cost $70. This release date was provided by their head office in the USA.

Are you going to wait that long, or order it from Digital Jesters??

Couldnt find it for sale in the US today, the day after it was supposed to be released. Ill look again tommorow at another store.

I got my copy in the mail also today. Like LordMalis - I pre-ordered my copy from EBgames also.

I have no idea when I'll get to play it though. I just started up a new two party member Ironman game in Wizardry 8 and currently playing I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.

Oh well. I'll get around to playing it sometime. Hopefully by the time I do Larian will have most of the bugs worked out.

I'm in Las Vegas, and the ONLY ones I found who had it here are EB. I went out at lunch today and got it, which is good, because the salesman said they just got them in this morning and they are already almost sold out. My next option would've been to order it online from Newegg.

Today is going to be a long day at work though. I can't wait until I get home tonight to start playing it!

Well I went Tuesday to three stores and no one had it.

I went Wednesday to three stores and no one had it.

I came home, searched online for any store within a 200 mile radius of me and no one had it!

So I ordered it from www.gogamer.com. They're shipping it to me overnight, so I'll have it tomorrow!! They have it on sale for $34.90, so I figure that the amount I paid for shipping is pretty much what I would have paid for it at any of the stores I tried to get it from. I also saw it available from www.gamestop.com and www.amazon.com, for $39.99.

I don't know why no one seems to have it. In fact, the guy at Game Stop said I was at least the third person to ask for it yesterday.

I got mine from an independent software shop today. I called an EB and they still didn't have it...

It is the same way when the Japanese port games over to the U.S. or any country. The game industry is all about money unless you are some one like Lord British who can aford to create a game that runs massively past schedule and costs a fortune to develop like Ultima X which I think took 5 + years.
