Did you find the cause of the disease and talk to the chief's son in the village? This triggers the quest to find the alchemist.

Yes I did and I was suppose to find the Alchemist

There should be a cut scene conversation as you approach. Did you try exiting and entering again? Approaching with the opposite character? If you were moving with both characters before, did you try with a single character?
