CTD when adding points above level 10 - Solution? - 18/05/04 06:31 PM
Several of us have run into a problem when completing the game and entering the after-game battlefields to continue playing. The problem is that if you buy a level 20 skill and try to train in it above level 10 you get an instant CTD.
While preparing a saved game to send to Larian I stumbled on a fix for this problem.
When you enter the battlefield from the "Enter Battlefields" option on your main menu (available when you finish the game) you select the name of the character in the menu that completed the game and the dungeons are generated.
Note that there is no saved game in your "Savedgames" folder for the character name that you selected to enter the battlefields. That seems to be the problem. So if you train at that time you will CTD.
However, if you create a saved game first, then reload the saved game before training it worked fine for me.
Anyone else who has encountered this problem can try this procedure. Please post your result here so we all will know if this is a valid solution or not.
