I got a quest from a farmer where he said that his cattle is missing and its been stolen i can't find anything about it in the game I bet its so obvious that this is a pathetic question but if you know anything about the quest can you please help me?

Poke around the poor section of Rivertown, south of the Blue Boar inn. There are two different ways this quest can be resolved, which effect the experience reward and your reputation.
Specifically, <span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'>in a basement of one of the houses you will find a bunch of meat, and can confront the guy just outside the house. If you turn him in it gives more experience, but your reputation drops.</span> (highlight the text to read)

What is the actual point of reputation, other then cheaper prices in shops, and one or two quests? Makes it pretty pointless imo...

Well, I think the cheaper shop prices alone make it all pay off. Also good if you're actually roleplaying your character.

It's impossible to get the 'Nericon's Garden' quest for instance, if you have a low reputation.

I think you just need an invitation to Stormfist Castle. Regardless of what your reputation is.
