Right, dilemma is this - I've done the first test but can't get the door unlocked downstairs in the Thieves Guild Bar even with lockpick level 5. WTH am I doing wrong please???

(and I've already given Finnegan his lockpicks back so don't say I need those!)

Are you on the correct Door? You mußt open the Door on the north side, not this on the east side.

Actually as we are on this topic of the thieves guild. How do u do the first test by getting the necklace off Sweeney. Do I need pickpocket to get the necklace?

Yes you need pickpocket to get the necklace.
Otherwise you can't activate the right cursor.

Hmmm, I've def. overdosed these last few days - decided to have a long weekend and booked Fri and Mon off work, ostensibly to springclean while having a break from work.
